QuickSet Update: Production Seats Have Arrived

Since our last update during the Kickstarter campaign late last year, most of our work has taken place behind the scenes preparing for this next stage.

Jack unloading the first production shipment of QuickSet bike seats.

Over the past several months, we’ve been focused on moving QuickSet from prototype into full production. That work is now behind us, and our first production orders have arrived. Seeing finished seats stacked in boxes instead of spread across workbenches feels like a meaningful step forward.

Having inventory in place changes things. For the first time, I’m visiting shops and distributors with production seats instead of prototypes. The conversations are different when people can see and handle the final product.

At the end of March, we’ll be making our way back to Minnesota, stopping at bike shops along the route to introduce the seat and continue building relationships. Some of these are shops I visited earlier in the year, and it will be helpful to return with finished product in hand and see how their initial interest translates now that QuickSet is in production.

Seeing finished seats boxed and ready marked an important step forward

I’ll also be following up with several of the early shops that purchased cases to get a sense of how quickly seats are moving and what feedback riders are sharing. It’s a small sample, but every conversation helps us gather important feedback and better understand how the seat fits into normal shop operations, from display placement to how often shops need to reorder.

Next month we’ll be attending CABDA West in Las Vegas. This is one of the larger trade shows for bike retailers in North America. Over 700 Independent Bike Dealers (IBD) will be attending with close to 2,000 IBD employees registered. It will be our first opportunity to show QuickSet broadly across the industry and hear directly from shop owners and distributors. I’m looking forward to it. We are very optimistic, but keeping our expectations realistic.

More updates soon.

Thanks,
Jack
